Operational Standard/Purpose

In compliance with Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) credentialing requirements for teaching faculty, all full time and part time (adjunct) faculty at ICC are required to meet minimum qualifications prior to hire.

Procedures

  1. Applicants apply to a vacancy posted on the ICC gov jobs website. Applicant is required to attach credentials to employment application prior to submitting application. Applicant will not be considered for employment without the appropriate documentation.
    Note: unofficial transcripts are accepted at this point in the recruitment procedure. Official transcripts must be received by the Human Resources office within the first academic semester of hire date.
  2. Human Resources evaluates applicant credentials against minimum qualifications for the position and moves minimally qualified applicants to:
    • A Subject Matter Expert (SME) review status in NEOGOV for full time faculty vacancies or
    • Referred status in NEOGOV for Adjunct vacancies.
    Required qualifications are located at Q:\Faculty Qualification Audit\Master_List.
  3. Academic Dean, Program Chair, Division Chair and applicable department faculty follow the Vacant Position Posting and Recruitment Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  4. When a candidate is approved for hire, the Academic Dean completes and submits a Minimum Faculty Qualifications (MFQ) Form. This form must include a copy of all relevant credentials (academic transcripts, licenses, certificates, etc.). Relevant credentials are available within the individuals application in NEOGOV.
  5. Vice President of Academic Affairs reviews the Minimum Faculty Qualifications (MFQ) Form and all attached documents and approves, requests additional information, or rejects the request.
  6. Approved forms are routed to the Human Resources Department.
  7. Human Resources Department saves approved Minimum Faculty Qualifications (MFQ) Form and attachments to the Q:\Faculty Qualification Audit folder.
  8. Upon hire, Human Resources links the transcript(s) to PeopleSoft using ImageNow and updates both Modify a Person and Person Profile records in PeopleSoft.
