Need Help with an Emergency Expense?
We understand that emergencies can happen anytime and interfere with a student’s academic progress. The Student Emergency Fund, managed by the ICC Educational Foundation, is here to help currently enrolled Illinois Central College students facing unexpected financial hardships.
This fund can assist with eligible emergency expenses that could impact your ability to stay in school. Examples of covered emergencies include (but aren’t limited to):
- Emergency medical, dental, or mental health services
- Unexpected vehicle repairs
- Theft, fire, or natural disaster damage
- Unsafe living situations (e.g., needing to change locks or find shelter)
- Sudden loss of housing or homelessness
- Utility bills at risk of shut-off
- Required items or services essential to your academic success
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, you must:
- Be currently enrolled at Illinois Central College
- Be experiencing a financial emergency due to an unexpected event
- Have already explored and/or exhausted other available resources (loans, financial aid, etc.)
The Educational Foundation may provide a modest one-time grant to help. Any funds awarded will be paid directly to the business (e.g., your landlord, utility provider, or repair shop). Funds cannot be paid to you personally.
