Faculty awards are given once a year. These awards recognize faculty who have demonstrated exceptional behaviors of excellence in the classroom and around Illinois Central College.
This nomination form is for the:
- Gallion Award, for Full-Time Faculty, this award is student nominated.
- Teaching Excellence Award, for Adjunct Faculty, this award is student nominated.
- Faculty Who Makes a Difference Award, for Full-time and/or Adjunct Faculty, this award is student and employee nominated.
The deadline to submit your nominations for 2023 is December 31, 2023.
The Awards Ceremony will be held in April 2024 with details to follow.
Selection Criteria
Any full-time or part-time faculty who have demonstrated exceptional behaviors of excellence as defined by the “Seven Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education.”
- Encourage contact with students
- Develop cooperation among students
- Encourage active learning
- Give prompt feedback
- Emphasize time on task
- Communicate high expectations
- Respect diverse talents and ways of learning
