Faculty Awards

Faculty awards are given once a year. These awards recognize faculty who have demonstrated exceptional behaviors of excellence in the classroom and around Illinois Central College.

This nomination form is for the:

  • Gallion Award, for Full-Time Faculty, this award is student nominated.
  • Teaching Excellence Award, for Adjunct Faculty, this award is student nominated.
  • Faculty Who Makes a Difference Award, for Full-time and/or Adjunct Faculty, this award is student and employee nominated.

The Awards Ceremony will be held in April 2025 with details to follow.

Selection Criteria

Any full-time or part-time faculty who have demonstrated exceptional behaviors of excellence as defined by the “Seven Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education.

  • Encourage contact with students
  • Develop cooperation among students
  • Encourage active learning
  • Give prompt feedback
  • Emphasize time on task
  • Communicate high expectations
  • Respect diverse talents and ways of learning
